UPDATES

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear blogger friends,

I'm in the process of making some BIG changes to my photo blog (the details are being smoothed over even as you read this). I can't explain too much as of yet, however I can state the obvious: thank you very little will be no longer. In it's place will be a new, shiny and sophisticated site called THE VOW.

For a sneak peek at what I'm working on please visit me at my new tumblr! I will be posting lots of goodies there daily.

Thank you so much and speak soon!

Colie

I found Shannon Rankin on one of my etsy stalk-a-thon moments. After browsing paper cuts for what seemed like hours I stumbled on her shop. Part paper cut part embroidery, Shannon explores the realms of human interconnectedness in an artful way. I especially love her use of vintage maps. Check more of her work out on flickr or visit her etsy shop.

Last weekend we attempted the impossible: camping (in Florida ((in August)). The conditions were rough, but the thrill of a new a camera and a few nights away convinced me of otherwise.

Totally.
Utterly.
In love.
Charmain Olivia is a fantastic illustrator, painter and photographer. I've been obsessing over silhouette portraits lately and was so pleased to find her nautical renditions. Check out more of her creations here.

This is the last of the film I will be sharing of Ryan and Trina's sunny wedding. But something tells me this isn't the end of wedding photos all together. I may be shooting a dear friends wedding this November! Fingers crossed.

Ryan and Trina's wedding was so much fun to shoot. I think my face muscles are still sore from all of the smiling. I feel very thankful to have been apart of their beautiful day.

VIDEO

I've always been a fan of Walt Whitman and I've seen a few other ad's from Levi's using voice recordings of his poems, this one may be my favorite yet. There is something distinctly profound about looking back to our past for direction and inspiration - even if it's by way of an ad campaign.

To preface this post, let me just say this is only 1 tiny portion of the film piles I have from Ryan and Trina's beautiful wedding, shot with Jon Duenas. I wanted to post this roll because it was the first time I have actually used Fuji Neopan high speed film. I was so happy with the results, especially considering I had no flash and was shooting in the darkest room ever. I can't wait to post more as I sort through it all.
